Chromatographic separation of americium from rare-earth elements with the use of separating ions

摘要：
The method is developed for separating trace amounts of americium from macroamounts of rare-earth elements (REEs) by displacement complexing chromatography (DCC) with introduction into the system of separating ions (Cd or Pb). The nature of separating ion strongly influences the separation. The effect of addition of citric acid to the complexing reagent (DTPA) on the separation of americium, europium, and samarium is investigated. Optimal conditions for complete separation of Am from REEs are found.
