Activities of the Magadan Detached Air Group (management) of civil aviation in 1966-1970

The publication deals with the activities of Civil Aviation authorities in the territory of Magadan Region at the turn of 1960s-1970s. It is based on historical documents from the State Archives, the details of which remained unknown till now. The work is aimed at consideration of facts and processes, which characterized the general situation in the regional civil aviation at that time including the flying stock conditions, airfield maintenance and working routine, route networks, and amounts of passenger and goods transportation. The resulting conclusion is that, during that period, the civil aviation branch was successively developing in Magadan Region, as new aircrafts were in use and airfields became modernized, although the ground facilities were not well-developed, and preflight services had to be better. However, the authorities worked intensely to improve the situation.
