摘要
This article analyzes the infrastructure in its different conceptions and its implications in the right to the city and in the concretization of the citizenship, regarding especially children who live in the urban centers. Using the hypothetical deductive method, under a quantitative bibliographical approach, discussed the relationship between development, infrastructure and children in the city. It described essential concepts of the public administration and infrastructure and their importance for economic and social development of the country. It was analyzed how the uncontrolled growth of Brazilian cities causes that the urban structures have to be rethought, since they exclude their own residents. Children are unique beings within this dynamic, who are directly impacted by the cities, but did not participate in its creation or reforms. International and Brazilian experiences were analyzed that promote their participation in projects aiming at changes in the environment in which they live, starting with their schools. The article concluded that guaranteeing the right to the city for the child goes far beyond their reinsertion in the cities, involves their participation in the creation of new structures that don't exclude them, but allow them to relate in the public environment to adults and other children.
