A Research on the Spatial Distribution and Protection of Chongqing Traditional Village Based on GIS

摘要：
The protection and utilization of traditional villages is a multi-disciplinary research focus at the moment. Based on the GIS spatial analysis tool, this article analyzes spatial distribution characteristics of traditional villages in Chongqing. The research shows that the structural types of traditional villages in Chongqing were identified agglomerate. The distribution of the traditional villages is comparatively centralized but the centralized area is overwhelmingly uneven among Chongqing. There are three centralized areas, which are ethnic minority villages. Based on the above spatial characteristics, we put forward that the collective memory, time and space, and national traditional culture are the main dimensions of the protection of traditional villages in Chongqing. The conclusion provides a new perspective for the protection of traditional villages in Chongqing.
