摘要
Neutron radiography has been used for a considerable time to study the in-situ water distribution of low temperature polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEMFC). One important application is the investigation of the effects of different gas diffusion layer (GDL) properties, like porosity or hydrophobicity, on the water management in the fuel cell. Within this framework, another focus is set on the study of degradation effects of these porous layers. A new method for ex-situ-degradation based on hydrogen peroxide was developed to analyse the controlled ageing. By means of neutron radiography the changes in the water balance of the fuel cell caused by the modification of GDL properties are analyzed.
