Effect of Ce4+ on preferred orientation of electrodeposited nickel

Ni deposit with (220) highly preferred orientation was obtained with potentiostatic method in solution containing 1.0 mol/L NiSO4, 0.5 mol/L H3BO3, 1.9x10(-3) mol/L Ce(SO4)(2). The deposit with highly preferred orientation was examined with X-ray diffraction and scanning tunneling microscope, ft is shown that the hii deposit has (220) highly preferred orientation, with texture degree of 95 percent and layer-shaped structure, The electrochemical behavior of the solution was studied with cyclic voltammetry.
