Al7075 silicon carbide metal grid composites utilized within different fields like underwater, golf clubs, aerospace, brake pads, automobile, aircrafts, substrate to electronics, turbine blades, owing for their progressed strength, stiffness, wear properties. Aim of present effort is evaluating hardness, drilling behaviour, microstructure, elongation, hardness, bending strength for Al7075 fortified with particulates for sic content to 2%wt,4%wt,6%wt produced from stir moulding method. Samples from Aluminium silicon carbide metal grid composites were examined for elongation, bending strength, Microstructures, Vickers hardness, microstructure & drilling properties. The outcomes uncovered that sic (2% wt, 4% wt, 6% wt) support particulates were uniformly conveyed in grid structure and that great interfacial holding have attained between grid & reinforced components. Results revealed Al7075 reinforced with 6% wt SiC displays high density, hardness, bending strength, elongation. Clustering & non-homogeneous distribution in microstructural tests for aluminium silicon composities. Taguchi's design concept for optimizing design parameters with 3-levels for better quality surface finish was used. Microstructure & Experimental results of machined surface revealed that drilled samples at low feed rate shows better result on surface finish. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
