Individual debriefing of persons exposed to psychic trauma

More and more frequently, psychiatrists have to cure persons who have important disorders after a psychic traumatisme. This first meeting is very important, and the psychiatrist must set about it in another way than in a meeting with standard depressed or anxious patients. The meeting will be focused on the event, i.e. facts, emotions and thoughts during the event. Person's concerns when surprised by the traumatism will be found again, and symptoms and thoughts appeared the days following will be investigated. Such a work needs a lot of time. This first meeting and those following aim to set up links between the traumatic picture and presentations in the Unconscious.
