Wastewater discharge is one of the primary environmental concerns. Removal of pollutants from wastewater is one of the critical sectors in the research. Nanotechnology plays a more significant role in degrading such types of contaminants. Green silver nanoparticles synthesis was gaining wide application in preventing environmental degradation, and it's also considered an eco-friendly approach in the research area. Silver nanoparticles afford a low cost, are less toxic, and have excellent chemical stability. In the current work, we synthesized silver nanoparticles via a green approach. Citrus X sinensis fruit has been reported to have antioxidant and various therapeutic applications. Therefore, silver nanoparticles were synthesized using Citrus X sinensis (Orange) fruit extract from a silver nitrate solution. Citrus X sinensis fruit extract was utilized as a biological capping along with a reducing element. Formation and characterization of silver nano-particles were verified with the help of UV-Vis spectroscopy, EDX, XRD, as well as SEM, methods. In the catalytic reduction of MB dye, the catalytic effect of synthesized green catalyst, AgNPs, was examined. Copyright (C) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
