Impact of clinical information quality on healthcare diagnosis quality: an empirical study

As information technology (IT) plays an increasingly important role in healthcare services, the impact of information quality on healthcare diagnosis quality has been gradually concerned by the health care industry. We choose the Pelvic Trauma Surgery of a hospital as the object of this study, and establish a model for healthcare diagnostic processes. After we use accuracy as the quantitative measurement of clinical information quality, diagnostician quality and health care diagnosis quality, the functional relationship between clinical information quality and diagnosis quality of pelvic fractures is derived. The results of this study show that along with the growth of clinical information quality, diagnosis quality of pelvic fractures improves slowly until it reaches the summit. Besides, diagnosis quality of pelvic fracture type A of this hospital is much higher than that of other two types.
