摘要
With industrialization, wastewater treatment technologies have drawn huge attention and among different approaches the adsorption process is very attractive because of its simple design and low operational cost. In this paper, CoCu-layered double hydroxide (LDH) was prepared having huge surface area with a large pore diameter, which is significant for obtaining excellent adsorption properties for methyl orange (MO). After detailed adsorption kinetics analysis, the results followed pseudo second order (PSO) kinetic model having good correlation coefficient (R-2) values. However, adsorption isotherms data matched well with the Freundlich isotherm kinetics model. Furthermore, CoCu-LDH exhibits significant adsorption capacity even in the fifth cycle of MO adsorption, indicating that the CoCu-LDH is competitive and cost-effective adsorbent for anionic dyes from industrial wastewater.
