Effect of cold work on tensile properties during annealing process for pure commercial aluminum (AA 1070 alloy)

摘要
The behavior of non-heat-treatable aluminum alloy in annealing process depends mainly on chemical composition and amount of cold work (strain) retained in the texture. This article discusses the effect of cold work on tensile properties during annealing process. The article discusses the steepness and magnitude of the decline in yield strength and the critical temperature, which has the greatest effect on tensile properties (sudden death zone). The study was made on pure commercial alloy to minimize the effect of alloying element. We have found that the higher the cold work, the steeper and sooner the decline in yield strength is. The response of metal to temperature does not follow a linear trend with the amount of cold work but instead reveals a critical value that advances the occurrence of the sudden death zone.
