Corn stalk cellulose-derived carbon composited with SnO2 nanoparticles used as anode for high-performance lithium-ion batteries

摘要
In this paper, corn stalk cellulose (CLDC) was used as the carbon source, and the oxide SnO2 was compounded by a hydrothermal method. The ultrafine SnO2 nanoparticles are anchored in the corn stalk cellulose pure carbon (CLDCC) matrix, and the carbon layer can limit the growth of SnO2 grains, which can alleviate the volume expansion of SnO2, improve the lithium storage ability of the material, and achieve a significant improvement in specific capacity and cyclability. Pure phase SnO2 will deteriorate the electrode quality during cycling due to inherent defects, and the specific capacity after the cycle is only 368 mA h g(-1). On the other hand, SnO2@CLDC not only retains the cycling stability of carbon materials but also has the high specific capacity provided by SnO2 particles, with a high capacity of 1248 mA h g(-1) after 100 cycles at 0.2 C.
