Application of ion chromatography with post-column derivatization and UV-Vis spectrophotometry for the Cr(VI) determination in mineral fertilizers

摘要
Samples of corn. mineral fertilizers were analyzed for Cr(VI) content by ion chromatography with post-column derivatization with Ph(NH)(2)CO(NH)(2)Ph and UV-Vis spectro-photometry method. For extn. of Cr(VI) from fertilizers, an alkaline extn. procedure was applied. The total Cr content was detd. using ICP-OES technique. The correction of inter-elemental interferences was performed using Sc as an internal std. Ion chromatography showed an appropriately low limit of quantification (0.11 mg/kg) and was the preferred technique in the anal. of Cr (VI) in mineral fertilizers.
