Wireless communication had a significant evolution over the last few years especially with the progress of 5G networks. In our paper, we investigate the impact of the asynchronism on the performance of a Cognitive Radio (CR) network, using the underlay paradigm. We provide a new theoretical aspect of interference analysis in the context of Cyclic Prefix Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM). Such asynchronous interference can be very harmful on the system performance and as a result on the Quality of Service (QoS). Previous works were evaluating the performance analytically either in terms of power allocation or spectrum sensing, and if the interference evaluation is done, it is not in the context of a CR network. In our work, we perform a theoretical analysis of the interference within a simple and a generalized case. Finally, simulation results confirmed the accuracy of the proposed theoretical model.
