A CLOUD SERVICE PROVIDERS RANKING APPROACH, BASED ON SAW AND MODIFIED TOPSIS METHODS

Selecting a Cloud Services Provider (CSP), taking into account the user requirements, from a set of various CSPs available in the cloud market, is a multi-criteria decision problem. To solve this problem, a decision making method is required to assist the users in CSPs ranking and selection. Several approaches have been proposed including Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. In this paper, we proposed a MCDM approach for CSPs ranking, based on Simple Additive Weighted (SAW) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution Method (TOPSIS) methods. We used, for the two methods, the same normalization process to bring the elements of the evaluation matrix to compatible units and for transforming all criteria in criteria of the same type (benefit criteria). In order to make TOPSIS method compatible with SAW method, in our approach, we used a modified TOPSIS method. We illustrated the applicability of the proposed approach using a case study for CSPs ranking. An analysis of the obtained solutions is realized.
