摘要
The aim of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of tympanostomy tube insertion in comparison with other modalities of treatment in children with chronic otitis media with effusion (COME) and recurrent acute otitis media (RAOM). Children with RAOM and COME were assigned to three subgroups with different modalities of treatment and examined during 1 year. Physical and acoustical characteristics of middle ear, as well as quality of life and general health of patients with COME and RAOM are significantly improved after Tympanostomy and Adenoidectomy and are very similar to the same data of ear- healthy children and significantly differ from the results of other methods of treatment. Myringotomy combined with Adenoidectomy or Adenoidectomy alone have comparatively less and temporary improving influence on patient's hearing, quality of life and general health.
