Application of the equations of the theory of volume filling of micropores to describe the adsorption of aromatic hydrocarbons from aqueous solutions on activated carbons

摘要
The equations of the theory of volume filling of micropores were applied to describe the experimental isotherms of adsorption of benzene, toluene, and p-xylene from aqueous solutions on AGZ and BAU activated carbons. It was shown that the adsorption of all three aromatic hydrocarbons on AGZ and BAU microporous carbons from aqueous solutions can be adequately described by the Dubinin-Radushkevich and Dubinin-Stoeckli equations. The parameters of these equations and the Henry equation were derived and compared. A correlation between the structural characteristics of the molecules of the hydrocarbons tested and the parameters of the equations was discussed.
