The Ibero-American Theater Festival of Cadiz. Political and documentary theater. Overview and XXXIV edition

This article presents a general overview of the Cadiz International Theater Festival, highlighting its main characteristics, the companies that have passed through it from 1986 to 2020, as well as a brief analysis of some of the works that have been part of the 34th edition, and which illustrate the type of theater that has come together in this Festival. The purpose of this article is to value the document and political theater that the Cadiz International Theater Festival has promoted until 2020, as well as its main characteristics in a context of globalization and postmodernism. Along with the study of each work, the conclusions have highlighted the nature and foundations of each show as a sample and example of political theater and document that has been representative in this Festival.
