GROWTH, CHARACTERIZATION AND DIELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF Bi2Mn4O10 SINGLE CRYSTALS

摘要
Crystals of Bi2Mn4O10 were successfully grown by the high temperature solution growth method. Their composition was determined by energy dispersive X-ray analysis. The phase homogeneity of the grown crystals was examined and confirmed by powder X-ray phase analysis. The structure was indexed in the orthorhombic space group P barn (No 55) with lattice parameters a(0) = 7.5353(21) angstrom, b(0) = 8.524(3) angstrom and c(0) = 5.7616(22) angstrom. AC-conductivity measurements were carried out on the Bi2Mn4O10 crystals in the temperature range 290-600 K for frequencies between 10 and 1000 kHz. The obtained results show evidence for relaxor behaviour of this material.
