摘要：

An extension of the Hess-Kato Theorem on elliptic systems was studied in the bounded open domain with smooth boundaries. Principal eigen values of the second order uniformly elliptic operator Dk with continuous coefficients were derived. The assumptions necessary for the existence of the operators were proved and a bifurcation point for positive solutions was obtained. An application of the abstract theorem was proved for bifurcation at infinity.
