A stable, positivity-preserving scheme for cross-diffusion source term in RANS turbulence models: Application to k-ω turbulence models

摘要
Stabilization measures that are introduced to the numerical treatment of the cross-diffusion term in k-omega turbulence models are presented. Specifically, a new treatment of the full form of the cross-diffusion term that appears in near-wall k-omega turbulence models is presented. Preserving the positivity of the turbulent specific dissipation rate plays a pivotal role in the design of the new scheme. Results obtained from three-dimensional numerical simulations using an unstructured-grid-based flow solver demonstrate the significant improvement compared to conventional schemes.
