The Application of Cloud Computing to Digital Library

Cloud computing is a trend of computer networks. This paper introduces the concept and application model of cloud computing in library. It analyzes the impact of the application of cloud computing in libraries and summarizes the problems of its applications. Digital Library is not only a digital resource based on information retrieval service system and resource systems, but also a user-centric dynamic platform to aggregate information resources, services, and utilization activities. With the development of computer, networking and information technology, digital libraries face with challenge of the storage and sharing of resources, the demands a variety of customer service and other aspects. In order to solve these problems and give full play to the role of digital libraries, in cloud era, aiming at organizing and transferring knowledge and information, digital library should conform to the trend of cloud computing, and promote digital library services from a resource-centric to user-centric.
