By constructing a class of solutions to the integral inequality alpha(t) < integral(+infinity)(1) a(tau)[alpha(tau)](lambda)d tau for t >= t(0) large enough, where 0 < A(1) <= a(tau) <= A(2) < + infinity and lambda > 1, that tend to zero as t -> +infinity we address an open problem in the theory of nonlinear oscillations.
