Asymmetrical simulation of filling and packing stages of injection molding process

摘要：
The paper deals with the asymmetry of filling and packing, that is the deviation from the symmetrical distribution of temperature and velocity profiles over thickness of the mold cavity. Two causes of asymmetry were simulated using 9.4 version of Moldflow dynamic series software: asymmetry of mold cooling (difference between temperatures of the mold halves) and branching. The influence of asymmetry of the flow path was found to be dominant during the filling stage, and the influence of the asymmetry of the mold cooling was found to be stronger in the packing stage.
