摘要
In this study, Shengmai Yin (SMY) was irradiated at doses of 2, 3, 5, and 7 kGy of electron-beam, to investigate the effects of electron beam irradiation (EBI) on the microbial content, color, active ingredients, and spectrogram similarity. Results showed that SMY was decontaminated at 7 kGy irradiation, but its color and active ingredients were altered. The similarity of the chromatogram was significantly altered at >= 5 kGy. Fourier transforms infrared spectra demonstrated the effect of EBI on the molecular structure. This study concluded that 7 kGy irradiation controls microbial limits for SMY but has an impact on quality.
