A Low-Profile Dual-Band Dual-Polarized Antenna for Base Station Applications

摘要
In this paper, base station antenna with low profile, dual band and dual polarization characteristics is proposed. The antenna consists of a lower-band element operating from 0.69 to 0.96 GHz, four upper-band elements with baffles working from 3.5 to 4.9 GHz, a loading metal plate with cross slot and a box-shaped reflector. The vertical up-and-down scheme, which means that the upper-band element is placed upon the lower-band element, is introduced for the purpose of reducing the mutual coupling between two bands. The metal plate loaded in the lower-band element could reduce the height of the antenna to realize the low profile characteristic. Measured results demonstrate that the pro-posed antenna has good performance, including wide impedance bandwidths of 32.7% in lower-band and 33.3% in upper-band, high port-to-port isolation and stable radiation patterns.
