摘要
In this paper, we used and investigated the modified chitosan as a potential polyelectrolyte polymer (flocculant) and eco-friendly, the lime as a coagulant and the activated carbon as an adsorbent for the treatment of ion loaded galvanizing wastewater using various processes namely coagulation/flocculation, adsorption and coagulation/flocculation/adsorption combined. We combined two processes namely coagulation/flocculation and adsorption in order to increase the performances of treatment of the used galvanizing wastewater. Further, the obtained results of the elimination rate by the coagulation/flocculation, the adsorption and the coagulation/flocculation/adsorption processes are 88.17, 96.17 and 99.14% for the zinc ions and 83.68, 95.4 and 96.8% for the copper ions, respectively. The coagulation/flocculation/adsorption hybrid process is better for the treatment of the galvanizing wastewater compared to the coagulation/flocculation and adsorption processes.
