摘要
The paper explains that integrated enterprise modelling will become a necessity in the future to avoid dispersing the enterprise's knowledge into many small, isolated models and to ensure that the models are used sufficiently often to be cost-efficiently maintained. To these ends, the paper presents the facet-modelling framework for integrating enterprise and information systems (IS) knowledge models and modelling languages. The framework has been developed specifically to accommodate multiple perspectives on enterprises and to being usable for different purposes. The paper discusses facet models and languages that incorporate CAD drawings of workplaces, tools and workpieces and points out that an interesting possibility is to provide static and dynamic 3d views of facet models. The paper demonstrates through an example how CAD models can be incorporated in a facet model, which can then be used to generate a dynamic 3d VRML visualisation of the model.
