摘要
In this reply, the authors focus on the major points of A. Garnham and J. V. Oakhill's (2005) comment on K. C. Klauer, J. Musch, and B. Naumer (2000), that is, on (a) the evidence against an earlier account of belief bias in the mental model framework and (b) the relationship of this account to the multinomial model that the authors used. The authors agree that within the mental model family, different accounts are compatible with the data reported in the original article. The authors also clarify the role of the multinomial model as a measurement tool. It does not provide, nor was it meant to be, a process model of the reasoning processes postulated by the account by mental models.
