Fostering sustainability via trust engines

Sustainability is a matter for all stakeholders including technologists, environmentalists, users and shareholders. With the advent of computational trust engines, it is now possible to foster the collaboration between all the stakeholders and allow them to work together in a sound and trustworthy way, as well as to promote the technologies that are more sustainable by assessing and selecting them. An example of such technology is electricity. By using trust engines and public key infrastructures (PKIs) to trace what type of source is used, a sustainable transition can be achieved.
