摘要
The processes of academic lecture comprehension in English in a Latvian high education institution by overseas students are reviewed in the present article. The author has studied the theoretical background in the area and has done a research in this field. The research constituted students questionnaires and a group interview. It was aimed at finding what hurdles participants may face in comprehension of academic lectures delivered in English from academic and linguistic point of view. Such aspects as speed of lecture delivery, pronunciation, and accent, use skills, presentation skills of a lecturer and note-taking skills by students were investigated.
