摘要
Many companies and government agencies are beginning to require certifications for their project, program, and engineering managers. Concurrently, the number and types of project and engineering management certifications have been increasing rapidly. Both the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the International Project Management Association (IPMA) have recently expanded their reach internationally. PMI now has chapters in more than 70 countries, while IPMA has member associations in 56 countries. The certifications previously offered by Engineering Management Certification International (EMCI) have been renamed and are now offered by the American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM). This article updates and expands upon previous reviews of project and engineering management certifications by professional organizations. The aim of this article is to aid engineering managers in keeping abreast of this rapidly changing area.
