摘要
A series of recent experimental studies indicate a considerable interaction of DNA with carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Experiments performed at DuPont [1] showed that CNT bundles can be effectively suspended by sonicating in a DNA solution. Motivated,by these experiments, we have investigated the nature of these interactions theoretically. Our density functional (DFT) based calculations showed that there does not exists any covalent interaction between DNA and CNT, but there do exist long range van der Waal's interactions.
