摘要：
A knowledge-based system is proposed to assist design engineers and managers in selecting the most appropriate design solutions throughout the entire design process. It effectively reduces and minimizes the risk in the decision making process. Moreover the proposed knowledge-based system can be used as a design tools for generating best design alternatives base on both design engineer's requirements and customer's specifications. Moreover, it improves the efficiency and accuracy of decision making in engineering design process and applications. Feasibility of the system is illustrated through a case study.
