摘要
One of the key requirements of late modernity is the necessity of permanent creation of oneself and one's own life. This process is particularly important during the period of emerging adulthood. The expectations of the labour market are an important determinant of the self-creation process for young people commencing studies, 'the purpose of this paper is the characteristics based on the studies of the students' self-creation activities which point to the development of competencies required by employers in Poland. The studies were carried out in the interpretive paradigm and concerned the characteristics of self-creation activities of students of three universities. This paper presents a fragment of the analysis of the research material. The analysis shows that among the three dimensions of the students' self-creation distinguished in the studies - relating to the sphere of corporeality, psychosocial well-being and vision of the future - mainly the activities associated with creating the vision of the future point to the shaping of the competences (mainly professional and personal) expected by employers. They are also partly related to the dimension of creating one's psychosocial well-being, however, then they also point to the need to create personal development potential and well-being (mainly personal competences). The analysed studies show that students are trying to create themselves and their lives taking into account both social requirements and their own preferences and goals.
