Holonic job shop scheduling using a multiagent system

摘要
A holonic, multiagent systems (HMS) approach to manufacturing job shop scheduling is discussed. Some key themes in current HMS scheduling research, including central versus distributed problem formation, local decision-making and computational techniques, cooperative interaction strategy, interchange mechanism, and degree of central coordination are also described. Various ways to build agents and groups of agents to fulfil the holonic philosophy are also addressed. The role of mediator agent concept in letting the system architect implement and update interactions easiliy and effectively, is also elaborated.
