Energy Efficiency Analysis in Buildings of a University Campus Using the PROCEL RTQ-C

摘要
According to data from the National Energy Conservation Program (PROCEL), artificial lighting and air conditioning systems account for the largest share of electricity consumption in Brazilian public educational institutions, highlighting the potential of these systems in the energy use conservation. Based on energy efficiency policies and certifications, it becomes possible to evaluate the universities buildings efficiency. This paper proposes the analysis of energy efficiency of buildings at the Federal Rural University of Semi-Arid (UFERSA) - Caraubas campus, using the Technical Quality Regulation for the Energy Efficiency Level of Commercial, Service and Public Buildings (RTQ-C) of the Procel Edifica program. The analysis made on this work are based on data obtained through load survey performed on-site and documentation provided by the university. It was possible to estimate the efficiency of the lighting and air conditioning systems of the university's classrooms blocks, as well as, to obtain the total energy efficiency rating of these buildings considering the scenario of lower efficiency for the envelope. It was possible to conclude that there is a significant improvement in the energy efficiency rating of the buildings when considering the contribution of the solar power plant installed at campus.
