摘要
In a last few years with the development of information technology, the term Internet of Things (IoT) plays a vital role in our daily life by doing the things smartly with smart devices. It is like how we are controlling our home appliances with smartphone to tracking our daily activities with smart watches. Internet of Thing is referred as various objects that are capable to connect network and proficient in computing. These devices can communicate with other devices, produce and consume the data with minimum human involvement. With the exponential increase in the number of IoT devices in the recent years, results more data generated that impact the performance of IoT devices with traditional IoT model in terms of latency, bandwidth, energy consumption and security issues. In tradition IoT model, data collected from various IoT devices required to be uploaded to cloud server (centralized servers) and after processing, the results are sent back to the corresponding IoT devices to execute their task To fulfill the customer necessities and improve the performance of IoT devices we need to move new technology. Bringing edge computing into the Internet of Things (IoT) architecture is a possible solution which allows data processing and data storage closer to the devices or sensors that collects the raw data that results low latency and low bandwidth. In this paper, we will discuss how edge computing will improves the IoT network performance. In addition we discuss the challenges we faced with edge computing based IoT devices.
