A fixed point theorem on some nonexpansive type mappings on complete metric spaces

A number of authors have defined contractive type mappings on a complete metric space which are generalizations of the well known Banach contraction. In this paper we consider self mappings of metric spaces, which satisfy some nonexpansive type condition and establish a fixed point theorem. Our result generalizes several known results.
