摘要：
The C-13 octanoate breath test for gastric emptying has still not achieved its full potential in clinical practice, largely because of uncertainty in how to relate its results to those of more established techniques, such as gamma scintigraphy. Here we briefly review the test and then go on to discuss recent advances in its validation and interpretation.
