We study coherent systems on an irreducible nodal curve of arithmetic genus 1. We determine conditions for their non-emptiness and study properties like irreducibility, smoothness, seminormality and rationality. (C) 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
