Porous Mn-Doped CoP3 Nanowires as a Janus Electrocatalyst for Efficient Overall Water Splitting in Alkaline Solution

摘要
To address the challenge of high efficient water splitting, novel porous 3D Mn doped CoP3 nanowire arrays on carbon fiber paper are successfully fabricated as an effective self-supported electrode for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction. The synthesized samples exhibit rough, curly and porous structure, benefiting the gaseous transfer and diffusion during the electrocatalytic procedure. As expected, the obtained Mn doped CoP3 nanowire arrays with the doped concentration of 5% exhibit the promoted electrocatalytic activity, the overpotentials of 280 mV for oxygen evolution reaction and 96 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction afford the current density of 10 mA center dot cm(-2), which indicates that the electrocatalytic performance can be dramatically enhanced via Mn doping. The Mn doped CoP3 electrocatalysts with increasing catalytic activity should be of high potential in the field of overall water splitting. This study also opens an avenue for further enhancing the electrocatalytic activity via tuning the electronic structures by doping. (c) 2018 The Electrochemical Society.
