PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AND THE ROMANIAN SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES

Even if they recognize the importance of human factor for the organization's performance, few managers from large organizations and less from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) pay attention to implementation and utilization of a performance management system. The specific literature considers that a good performance management system has two main components, the exploitation and conservation of talent, and the performance feedback mechanism. The paper presents the results of a survey regarding performance management within Romanian SMEs administered during the last quarter of 2012.
