Design of a high gain, high steering angle and wide band antenna for S band application

摘要
An antenna aimed to achieve a wide steering angle and high gain over a wide bandwidth is studied in this paper. The antenna is composed of several elements known as pixels which provide the low-profile and high band. The construction method of the pixels is studied to improve the steering angle of the antenna. It is realized by reducing the size of the elements from 0.5 * lambda to 0.4 * lambda of the frequency 2 GHz. The results are checked before and after the modification in terms of S-parameters and gain. The radiating results of the antenna are then examined over the frequency band. The resulting antenna shows improved steering capacity from 2.05 GHz to 2.75GHz with improved steering capacity, achieving 70 degrees for the frequencies up to 2.5 GHz.
