Environmental-geological impact of karst coal mines in North China

摘要
The age of coal series in North China is Permo-Carboniferous. Several thin limestone beds are intercalated in the coal bearing strata, below which is thick Ordovician limestones. So the hydrogeological conditions are complicated. In Karst coal mining areas, a series of environmental geological problems have arised during mining, such as Karst water inrush, rocks and soils brought from water inrush, contradiction of drainage and supply, deterioration of water quality, surface subsidence and surface collapse etc. In this paper above problems are addressed and corresponding countermeasures are proposed.
