摘要
This study develops a new-type wave absorbing works which absorbs enough incident wave to reform a sandy beach. In a two dimensional laboratory test, we examined the change in sand movement from offshore to shore with regard to two kinds of new-type wave absorbing works, that is a wire cylinder and a nylon-thread mat. In the test, regular and irregular waves were used to examine the effects of these new-type wave absorbing works on wave reflection and the direction of sand movement. The results showed that by introducing a nylon-thread mat in front of a vertical seawall the offshore sand brought back to the front of the seawall.
