摘要
The textures of alumina scales grown on FeCrAl and FeCrAlY alloys were measured. They both show no significant preferred orientation. The scale on FeCrAl is equiaxed while that on FeCrAlY is columnar. This combination of columnar morphology with no preferred orientation for the scale on FeCrAlY is explained by the role of yttrium. during the growth of alpha-alumina scales.
