摘要：

The Gemini North observatory located on the summit of Mauna Kea is putting up an 8.1-meter mirror to capture images in the infrared end of the electromagnetic spectrum. If all goes well for Gemini, sometime in the middle of 2000 astronomers will take full control of the telescope.
