Intra-articular fractures of the distal radius are a subset of fractures at the wrist that require anatomic reduction for optimum outcomes. A three-dimensional assessment of the articular surface reduction is improved by arthroscopic assistance. Even with extra-articular fracture of the distal radius, associated injuries within the wrist are better appreciated and better treated by using this method. Proficiency with wrist arthroscopy and appropriate modifications of standard arthroscopic technique are necessary for treating physicians to take full advantage of the usefulness of this treatment method.
